Main types of royal jelly

Royal jelly, also known as royal jelly, royal jelly, royal jelly, and bee milk, is the secretion of the pharyngeal gland of young worker bees that breed larvae in the bee nest. It is the food for the larvae that will become the queen, and also the food for the Queen's life.

  Main types of royal jelly:

  By honey powder source

Royal jelly is usually called royal jelly when it grows at any flowering stage. For example, the royal jelly collected during the flowering period of rape is called rape slurry, and the royal jelly collected during the flowering period of Robinia pseudoacacia is called Robinia pseudoacacia slurry. Similarly, there are basswood pulp, sunflower pulp, Jingtiao pulp, milkvetch pulp and miscellaneous flower pulp.

  By color

The color and luster of royal jelly produced by different nectar and powder sources at different flowering stages were different. For example, the rape pulp is white, the locust pulp is milky white, the milk vetch pulp is light yellow, the buckwheat pulp is reddish, and the Amorpha fruticosa pulp is purple. The color of royal jelly can be used to distinguish which nectar is produced at the flowering stage.

  By production season

Generally, the royal jelly produced before the middle of may can be classified as spring jelly, and the royal jelly produced after the middle of may can be classified as summer and autumn jelly. The spring jelly is milky yellow, which is the best quality royal jelly in a year. Especially the royal jelly produced for the first time is of the highest quality, and the royal jelly acid content is high. The color of autumn pulp is slightly darker, and the water content is slightly lower than that of spring pulp, but the quality is slightly lower than that of spring pulp.

  According to bee species

According to the different species of bee producing plasma, the royal jelly is divided into Chinese bee, western bee and black bee. The former is from Chinese bee and the latter is from western bee. Compared with western bee plasma, Chinese bee plasma is more viscous and yellowish in appearance, and the content of royal jelly acid is slightly lower. The yield of Chinese bee plasma is much lower than that of western bee plasma. Most of the products sold in the market are western bee jelly. Black royal jelly is mainly produced in Heilongjiang Province and Qinghai Province. The output of black royal jelly is lower than that of Western Royal Jelly, but the nutrition is higher than that of Western Royal Jelly, and the quality of royal jelly is high. The hotter the Western Royal Jelly, the better. The fresher the black royal jelly, the better. It is similar to the sweet taste of monosodium glutamate.
